SALARY: $60,000 - $80,000 annually (DOE)
LOCATION: Sacramento, CA (Midtown)
SCHEDULE: Full-Time | Monday - Friday | On-Site | Direct-Hire

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Prepare, proofread, format, and electronically file legal documents in California state and federal courts. 
  • Maintain litigation case files, prepare exhibits, draft proofs of service and other legal forms, and assist with hearing and trial preparation. 
  • Manage time entry, expense reports, incoming mail, and document service through electronic filing, USPS, UPS, and other delivery methods. 
  • Conduct legal research, coordinate with attorneys and administrative staff, and provide general office support, including answering a low volume of phone calls. 
  • Assist with document production, cite checking, and maintaining organized case records. 

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
  • At least 3 years of experience as a Legal Assistant/Paralegal in a litigation-focused law firm.
  • Previous litigation experience in a law firm supporting attorneys in California state and/or federal courts. 
  • Experience with PACER, Westlaw, electronic court filing, Microsoft Office (including Excel), and Adobe Acrobat. 
  • Knowledge of California court rules, federal court procedures, document formatting, exhibits, and legal correspondence. 
  • Strong proofreading, organization, typing, and written communication skills. 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer. 
  • Frequent use of a keyboard, mouse, telephone, and other standard office equipment. 
  • Ability to lift and carry files or office materials weighing up to 20 pounds. 
  • Ability to move throughout the office to coordinate with staff and manage documents.
