Job Description

Step into a meaningful litigation support role where you’ll work directly with an experienced trial attorney, help injury victims and their families, and become an integral part of a respected boutique plaintiff personal injury law firm.

SALARY: $75k+/yr. DOE

LOCATION: Portland, OR

SCHEDULE: Full-time; 100% in-office | Monday-Friday; 8:30am-5:00pm

WHY YOU’LL LOVE THIS ROLE

  • Join a well-established plaintiff personal injury and civil rights law firm where your work directly impacts clients navigating some of life's most challenging circumstances.

  • Step into a stable, long-term position created by the planned retirement of a valued, long-tenured paralegal, allowing for a thoughtful transition and training period.

  • Work side-by-side with an experienced trial attorney in a collaborative boutique practice where your contributions are recognized and valued.

  • Enjoy employer-paid parking, comprehensive benefits, a private office, and a professional downtown Portland work environment.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Serve as a lead administrative resource on active files, managing cases from intake through resolution while keeping records, deadlines, bills, liens, and other critical case information organized.

  • Build strong relationships with clients as a primary point of contact, providing updates, gathering information, explaining the process, and helping guide clients through what can be a difficult experience.

  • Communicate with insurance companies and other parties, manage medical and case records, and draft medical summaries, demand letters, correspondence, and other case materials.

  • Support litigation by drafting pleadings, managing discovery, preparing exhibits, coordinating electronic filings, and assisting with trial preparation and proceedings.

  • Proactively monitor cases and collaborate directly with the attorney to identify upcoming deadlines, next steps, and client needs before they become urgent.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Prior experience as a paralegal or legal assistant supporting Oregon civil litigation; plaintiff personal injury or civil rights experience is strongly preferred.

  • Familiarity with Oregon and/or Washington court rules, electronic filing systems, and litigation timelines.

  • Strong legal writing, proofreading, organization, and case-management skills.

  • Ability to independently manage multiple priorities while communicating patiently and compassionately with clients.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal case-management software; a four-year degree or paralegal certificate is preferred but not required with relevant experience.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position requires the ability to work at a computer for extended periods, including frequent typing, reading, reviewing electronic and paper documents, and communicating by phone and email. The role also requires occasional lifting of files or office supplies up to 20 pounds, along with the ability to move throughout the office to access files, greet clients, attend meetings, and support daily office operations.
