Legal Assistant | Litigation

Join a fast-paced litigation team supporting attorneys through all phases of case management, from initial filings to trial preparation, while ensuring deadlines, documents, and logistics are handled with precision. This full-time, hybrid role based in Portland, OR offers the opportunity to play a key role in delivering high-quality, client-focused legal support.




LOCATION: Portland, OR

SALARY: $58k-$78k/yr. DOE

SCHEDULE: Full-time; Monday-Friday | 8:00am-5:00pm

*Hybrid option available

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Manage litigation files from case inception through trial, arbitration, or mediation, including organizing documents, maintaining electronic and physical files, and coordinating service and e-filing in state and federal courts. 

  • Docket and track deadlines, ensuring compliance with Oregon and Washington court rules; proactively follow up with attorneys and verify accuracy of calculated deadlines. 

  • Coordinate logistics for hearings, depositions, and meetings, including scheduling, preparing notices and correspondence, arranging conference rooms, and securing court reporters. 

  • Support case administration tasks such as opening new matters, requesting conflict checks, proofreading legal documents, and ensuring all filings and communications are accurate, timely, and client-focused.
     

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR 

  • 3–8+ years of litigation support experience, with knowledge of court rules and filing procedures in Oregon and Washington (State and federal courts) 

  • Strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including meticulous proofreading and attention to detail 

  • Proficiency in docketing/calendaring deadlines and coordinating complex schedules for hearings, depositions, and meetings 

  • Self-motivated, proactive professional committed to continuous development and delivering high-quality, client-focused legal support

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This role requires the ability to sit or stand for extended periods while working at a computer, as well as frequent use of standard office equipment. Candidates must be able to occasionally lift and move files or materials (up to 20 pounds) and perform tasks that involve reaching, bending, and repetitive hand movements.
