Job Description

Keep customer operations running smoothly as a Returns Specialist handling marketplace returns with precision and care. In this role, you'll be the gatekeeper between customer satisfaction and product restoration, making critical decisions about refunds and quality while protecting the company from fraud. If you're detail-oriented, good at problem-solving, and enjoy work that requires both analytical thinking and hands-on inspection, this temp-to-hire opportunity offers meaningful work with clear advancement potential.

SALARY: $19/hr.

LOCATION: WILSONVILLE, OR

SCHEDULE: Temporary-to-Hire; Monday-Friday | 8:00am-4:30pm

WHY YOU'LL LOVE THIS ROLE

  • Gateway Role with Real Impact: You're not just processing paperwork—you're the first line of quality control and fraud prevention, making strategic decisions that directly protect company revenue and customer trust.

  • Clear Workflow and Ownership: Pull returned items, inspect them carefully, verify order details, and document everything before sending packages to the repair team—each return is a complete process you can see through from start to finish.

  • Fraud Investigation and Decision-Making: Go beyond data entry by investigating suspicious returns, validating product authenticity, and determining appropriate refund actions based on your assessments and company policy.

  • Temp-to-Hire with Growth Potential: Start as a temp and move into a permanent role based on your accuracy, judgment, and ability to balance speed with thoroughness in return processing.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Receive and process incoming returns submitted through the online marketplace, pulling items from boxes and conducting detailed visual inspections to verify product numbers and condition match the original order.

  • Reference customer orders and return requests to validate claims, cross-check product information, and identify any discrepancies or red flags that may indicate fraud or misrepresentation.

  • Make strategic decisions about refund approval, partial refunds, or denial based on inspection findings, company policy, and risk assessment of each return situation.

  • Document all returns comprehensively with notes, photos, and findings, then route validated returns to the computer repair technician team for diagnosis and repair work.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Minimum of 1 year of returns processing, customer service, or quality assurance experience with a demonstrated ability to work in fast-paced, high-volume environments and handle multiple returns daily.

  • Strong attention to detail, ability to verify information accurately, follow procedural steps consistently, and maintain organized records of all returns processed and decisions made.

  • Critical thinking and decision-making skills, comfort with investigating and identifying potential fraud or damage, and willingness to ask questions when something doesn't match up.

  • Reliability, professionalism when handling customer issues, ability to work independently while following guidelines, and commitment to accuracy over speed.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position requires the ability to stand, walk, and reach throughout the shift while handling boxes, pulling merchandise, and conducting visual inspections. You'll use small hand tools to open and inspect packages and may lift items up to 25 pounds regularly.
